On Monday, June 30th 2014, I successfully defended my PhD thesis “On the utility of bytewise approximate matching in computer science with a special focus on digital forensics investigations” after being a member of the da/sec group since 2011. I would like to thank the members of the examing committee: Prof. Dr. Stefan Katzenbeisser (TU Darmstadt), Prof. Dr. Harald Baier (Hochschule Darmstadt) and Prof. Dr. Felix Freiling (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg) as well as all other supporters.
This PhD was the first joint PhD examination between TU Darmstadt and Hochschule Darmstadt which was mainly enable by CASED.
